As a tribute to the dances Bishop Egan High School held every Friday night in the ‘70s and ‘80s, Conwell-Egan High School is opening its doors to alumni and others in the community for a throwback-style dance.
The Back To School Alumni and Friends dance will take place on Sept. 9 from 7 to 11 p.m. in the dining hall of the school at 611 Wistar Rd. in Fairless Hills. It is not restricted to Egan alumni, but open to everyone over the age of 21 in the community, just as the dances were back in the day.
“They had just as many Bensalem, Neshaminy and Pennsbury kids as Egan kids,” said Stephen Burns, director of advancement at the school. “We want everyone to know that everyone is welcome.”
The dance is part of the Out of Bounds events series, which previously featured a quizzo night at Dacey’s Pub in Morrisville and karaoke at The Pines Tavern in Bristol. It’s a new brand of events for the school aimed to reconnect with alumni and the community.
“We’ve had the same eight events at the school for a long time and the same people go,” Burns said. “Some people can’t afford some of those events.”
This event is only $10, which includes a DJ, photo booth, snacks, water, soda, coffee and dessert. It’s also BYOB.
Tickets can be purchased at the door or online at www.conwell-egan.org/alumni-and-friends-out-of-bounds.
